A sıte specıfıc performance

In collaboration with Improvisation Dance Festival (Istanbul) and Sanpapié Dance Company (Milano), we created a site-specific play named ‘CROSSING BORDERS’. The work reflects upon several topics such as the fluid boundaries of personal identity, the limits of coexistence between different peoples in neighboring spaces, the boundary-crossing condition of perpetual migration, the challenge of cross-culturalism in a capitalist world and the future crossings between the body and technology.

CROSSING BORDERS was developed as part of Go Towards, an international project supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Go Towards investigates the semantic surplus value of the concept of “border” through the universal language of dance, and Istanbul was one of seven artistic residencies involved in this exploration.
